Project W.A.R.M.

(Weather Amnesty Response Ministry)

What:

Many churches, including First United Methodist, Northwest United Methodist, Clay United Methodist, and Grace United Methodist have partnered to initiate a ministry held at First Church to provide overnight weather protection during the coldest times of the year for the homeless population.

When:

The Project WARM weather amnesty shelter will be open every night from December 1, 2011 to March 15, 2012, 8pm to 8am, at First UMC in downtown South Bend (333 N. Main Street).

Volunteer Opportunities:

There are volunteer opportunities available every morning and evening. Evening volunteers from 7:30-9pm will help staff check in our homeless friends and get them settled for the evening. The morning volunteers from 7:30-8 30am will help make coffee and hand out light snacks.

Donation Opportunities:

Donations are also needed to support this project. Donations can be dropped off at one of the churches listed above. Donations needed: tube socks and non-perishable SNACK items such as tuna kits, cheese crackers, peanut butter crackers, granola bars, breakfast bars, string cheese or 100% juice boxes.
