Grace UMC relies on each person to help create a dynamic ministry so the love and grace of Jesus might be better known in our families, church, community and world.
Is there anything more exciting than the knowledge that the God of the universe wants to work through you? Jesus tells us in John 15:16, "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit - fruit that will last." We have been commissioned to do a good work!
As the church, we have all it takes to do God's work. We are not only called to serve but we are also gifted. Only you know what God has called you to do, and our Missions and Community Outreach Committee encourages each individual to become involved in a missions or outreach program.
Whether you are a child, a teenager, or an adult, Grace UMC offers multiple opportunities for participation in missions activities both locally as well as worldwide. In addition to providing financial support to programs and agencies in South Bend, Grace members are often seen around town assisting different groups to serve the needs of their ministries.
Ranging from serving Sunday meals to the homeless community at Broadway Christian Parish to walking in the Crop Walk to building access ramps for the Chiara House to cleaning up our local parks with Trash Troopers, our missions and community outreach team is always on the move. Each year we organize a group to assist with the Matthew 25 House built by Habitat for Humanity, we serve as a host for Angel Tree, we ring bells with the Salvation Army, we assist in fund-raising benefits for local missions, and much more!
